JC Simon Fine Woodworking focuses on designing and building custom heirloom quality hardwood furniture in all styles. Furniture repair and antique restoration. Also featuring paintings by local artist Gretchen Vanderbunt. Located in the big red barn off Old441 just north of downtown. As a one man shop hours may vary, but typically open 9-5.

JC Simon Fine Woodworking began in 1976 when at the age of 27 I quit the corporate world to pursue my passion for woodworking. After purchasing a 27’ sloop I set sail for the Caribbean to ply my trade, at first in boat carpentry and yacht interiors. Then, as the islands prospered, hotels, bars, and restaurants became my focus. After 12 years I was lured north by a Minnesota gal, married and opened a shop in Minneapolis specializing in fine custom furniture. During the following thirty years, I expanded my repertoire to include architectural woodworking such as custom entries, corbels, staircases, wine cellars, etc.
I have brought my skills and experience to the beautiful mountains of North Georgia with the hopes of concentrating on my love of designing and crafting fine custom, one of a kind, heirloom quality hardwood furniture. Let’s get together in your home and work up a design that will be the “perfect” piece that you have been looking for but can’t find, whatever period or style.
Antique restoration and furniture repair work are also welcome as well as any general woodshop services you may need.
