Posted @withregram • @vagabondfiberarts I am so excited and ready for bundling weather! I put this 12 1/2 yard warp on the loom with this hand-dyed cotton mystery warp that I got in a yarn haul along the way. I did not know how many threads I had or how long it was until I got it set up on the loom. I supplemented what I needed to cover the width with a dark teal wool. This shawl is woven with a different dark teal wool weft. I chose to do extra long fringe just for fun. Most of my shawls are approximately 24 inches wide and between 60 inches and 72 inches long. Because this warp is so long, I cut off this shawl, tied on different colored warps, wove those shawls, cut them off, and then returned to this warp. So I also have a second shawl at this point in a similar color available, too, that I just haven’t photographed yet. I wove that one with a greenish wool in a twill pattern. This shawl is woven in herringbone. It’s always fun changing weft color with the same warp and seeing how differently the finished fabric turns out.

This weekend, I am participating in @affps_festivals’ Chastain Park Fall Art Festival down in Atlanta. The show is open 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, November 2 and 11 AM to 5 PM on Sunday, November 3. I’m looking forward to it! Y’all tell your Atlanta friends to come out and see a great show. ☀️🌻☀️
